The Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT, polish Politechnika Gdańska) is one of the oldest technical universities in Poland. It is a public research university located in Gdańsk , a city situated on the polish Baltic Sea coast. History of the university goes back to 1904. At the time Gdańsk was part of the German Empire. In 1945 the school was reorganized and rebuilt as polish state academy. In 2018, the Gdańsk University of Technology campus was ranked among the ten most beautiful in Europe by Times Higher Education

Since 2017, by decision of the European Commission, GUT also has the right to use the prestigious logo HR Excellence in Research, which means that it was recognized as an institution creating one of the best conditions for work and development for researchers in Europe.
