Miguel Hernández University (UMH) is a public university that teaches in all areas of knowledge. We offer 26 degrees, two double degrees and 50 master’s degrees in our 4 campuses, located from north to south of the province of Alicante (Spain) in the towns of Altea, Sant Joan d’Alacant, Elche and Orihuela.

UMH is a young university that is committed to continuing to incorporate innovation and excellence to continue climbing positions among the best in our environment. According to different indicators of quality of universities, Miguel Hernández de Elche University is among the best positions of Spanish universities in the parameters of innovation and technological development, in teaching and in the field of industry, innovation and infrastructure.

Our university is based on an integrative and consensus project, based on the recognition of diversity and differences between campuses, areas of knowledge and the people who make up the university community. To do this, we work to ensure that the best conditions are met and that each of us can perform functions in the best possible way and develop best capabilities.

The Universidad Miguel Hernandez, through the national contract between CRUE and IEEE, has an open access agreement with IEEE. The agreement enables researchers to publish articles as open access with a 20% discount on eligible APCs for publishing in IEEE Gold journals and a predetermined number of covered open access fees in all IEEE hybrid open access journals. To see eligible titles, please refer to the IEEE open access title list. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between now and December 31, 2025. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidad Miguel Hernandez and use the correct institution name and institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an administrator in the library. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.
