The Universitat Politècnica de València is a public, dynamic and innovative institution dedicated to research and teaching that, while maintaining strong links with the social environment in which it operates, opts for a strong presence abroad.
The UPV trains people to enhance their skills; it researches and generates knowledge, with quality, rigor and ethics, in the fields of science, technology, art and business, with the aim of promoting the integral development of society and contributing to its technological, economic and cultural progress.

Its community is made up of more than 28,000 students, 3,600 professors and researchers and 1,500 administrative and service professionals distributed among its three campuses located in Alcoy, Gandia and Valencia.

At present, the UPV is made up of 13 university centers, of which 9 are higher technical schools, 2 are faculties and another 2 are higher polytechnic schools; 42 Departments, 20 University Research Institutes, and 26 of its own research structures. It also has a Doctoral School and 3 affiliated centers (Florida Universitaria, Berklee College of Music and EDEM Business School).

The Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, through the national contract between CRUE and IEEE, has an open access agreement with IEEE. The agreement enables researchers to publish articles as open access with a 20% discount on eligible APCs for publishing in IEEE Gold journals and a predetermined number of covered open access fees in all IEEE hybrid open access journals. To see eligible titles, please refer to the IEEE open access title list. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between now and December 31, 2025. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and use the correct institution name and institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an administrator in the library. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.
