The Universitat de València’s mission is to train competent professionals at European Professional Standard and to encourage prestigious research with international implications that will contribute to the development of our society. Through training and research, the UV will promote the field of dissemination of science and culture, also to promote the reaffirmation of the democratic values of the society in general, and in the Valencian society in particular.

The Universitat de València (UV) is a national first-rate academic institution that has an important international projection as well. It appears in relevant positions within the most prestigious rankings.
It was positioned among the best 201-300 universities in the world and the 2-5 in Spain, according to the Shanghai Ranking 2020. In its regional area, the UV is a large centre of scientific production that entails more than 30% of scientific publications in all areas in the Valencian Community, according to Web of Science (Source: ACCIDI Report 2012 “Scientific Research and Technological Development in the Valencian Community”).

The UV has a generalist interests and therefore its research addresses all the fields of knowledge: Humanities, Basic Sciences and Engineering, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Education.

The Universitat de València, through the national contract between CRUE and IEEE, has an open access agreement with IEEE. The agreement enables researchers to publish articles as open access with a 20% discount on eligible APCs for publishing in IEEE Gold journals and a predetermined number of covered open access fees in all IEEE hybrid open access journals. To see eligible titles, please refer to the IEEE open access title list. The agreement applies to all original research articles accepted for publication between now and December 31, 2025. To benefit from this agreement, the corresponding author has to be affiliated with Universitat de València and use the correct institution name and institutional email address during submission. It is recommended for authors to select the CC BY 4.0 license. The open access funding request will be approved by an administrator in the library. Overlength page charges or color fees are not covered by the agreement and will be charged to authors.
